Usher, the House Of
Last night, I was tired- but not too tired. Not tired enough to sleep. I tried, oh, I did try. For two hours I lay in bed and listened to music, nothing pushing me over the edge. So I got up. And stretched. And realized- I have business to attend to for work.
There's a mask contest at work, and I knew that although I wouldn't be able to wear it, I could certainly make one for the competition. So I scuttled out to Walgreens to see if they had any cheap fabric masks that I could paint. Amusingly enough, they had a sale on masks, but no fabric, un-decorated ones. But there were, however, foam ones at 39 cents each- I bought five with the coins I'd extracted from my coin jar and scurried home. Breaking out my fabric paints, I silently attacked them one by one, leaving me with a near-finished green-on black, a silver-on-black harlequin print on another, and a netted beginning on a third- to be laced with paper of a folded variety. I really, really hope I don't get beat by someone who just went ahead and bought theirs for six bucks, finished, from Walgreens.
After all, I almost did.
Truth be told, I had more fun painting them than I ever would have had just buying the finished one.
